The price covers the listed aircraft hours, fuel, dual instruction and ground instruction. Solo flights require instructor authorization and applicable aircraft-use eligibility. A package buys a defined training block; certification depends on meeting FAA experience and proficiency standards.
FAA medical examinations, knowledge tests, examiner and checkride fees, books, charts, headsets, additional flight or ground hours, and outside aircraft or training arrangements are separate. Review your logbook, schedule, eligibility, extra-hour rates and written payment and cancellation terms with Reza before enrollment.

A sample lesson budget
For 1.3 hours of dual flight, the published combined rate gives a flight portion of $260–$323.70. Ground instruction and any other applicable charges are additional unless included in your written quote. This is an illustration, not a fixed lesson price.

Meet and make a plan
Discuss your goals, experience and budget. Take a discovery lesson if you wish, then agree on your next lessons and study plan.
Build the foundations
Practice preflight checks, aircraft control and radio communication, with a briefing and debrief for each lesson.
Develop consistency
Build on the previous lesson, practice assigned skills and prepare on the ground between flights.
Review your progress
Review what you have learned, update your budget and set the next training goals. Milestones follow proficiency.

Eight lessons over four weeks, each with 1.3 flight hours, total 10.4 flight hours. At the published $200–$249 combined hourly range, the flight portion is $2,080–$2,589.60. Ground instruction, equipment and outside fees are not included in this illustration. Any discovery lesson is budgeted separately.

The two-person option includes one flying participant and one guest. Both weights are required before the flight, and guest carriage remains subject to aircraft weight-and-balance limits, weather, operating conditions, and the instructor’s final approval. How long does a Private Pilot Certificate take?

What does flight training cost?
Private pilot packages are $10,400, $15,400 and $22,000. Instrument training is $11,700; commercial and combined CFI/CFII preparation are $15,400 each. Do I need experience before starting?
No experience is required for a discovery lesson or to begin private-pilot training. Instrument and commercial applicants need the appropriate existing certificate and aeronautical experience; Reza can review your logbook and starting point.
Do I need an FAA medical certificate?
You do not need a medical certificate simply to take a discovery lesson with an instructor. Most private-pilot students obtain an appropriate medical certificate before solo flight. Read the FAA medical guide for student pilots.
Why train at Van Nuys Airport?
Van Nuys places students in active, controlled Los Angeles airspace. With proper instruction, that environment builds radio discipline, situational awareness and confident airport operations from the beginning.
Can a discovery flight count toward training?
When conducted and logged as flight instruction by an authorized instructor, eligible discovery-lesson time may count toward pilot training. Your logbook entry and training path will be discussed after the lesson.
